Hallelujah and a cheers to boot! My very first post about my trip to Paris, a mere seven months ago. You knew it was coming eventually though, right? And better late then never, am I seriously right? Because Paris is always a good idea. And ain’t that true. Paris was a great idea. The food, the friends, the architecture, the fashion – it’s all beautiful and incredible and nothing like the United States.
One of my favorite people in the whole world, Meg, was so gracious to host me for my week in the city. We ate duck legs and snails and walked through Tuileries and rode a ferris wheel and went to exhibitions and I am almost in tears because I miss Meg and Paris SO MUCH. It’s not even fair.
Isn’t Meg the prettiest thing you’ve ever seen (photo above)? Chic Meg – Chic, Paris.
Everyone keeps asking me what my favorite part of Paris was and I truly cannot answer. I loved the trendy, blustering area with mannequins in store windows wearing outfits that cost more than a year’s salary for me. I loved the darker alleys, lined with the clothes of gypsys and the quaint areas with graffiti and faded facades.
Someday I’d like to live in Paris for a while. I dream of nights spent drinking wine with my window open to my tiny little room. I imagine walking down the cobblestones, holding someone’s hand, singing softly.
Oh chic, Paris.
