I don’t think I really ever post photos on the blog that showcase my own work. I don’t know why, it’s just silly not to, but I guess I get a little shy sometimes and am scared that people won’t like my photos. This was especially the case with this set, because I just wasn’t on my game with this photoshoot. After a little pep-talk with my sweetest friend Brianna a few nights ago, I’ve decided to start posting some of the work I’ve done.
So I’m starting with my most insecure first and I guess I’ll post the stuff I really like later on.
This shoot with my friends Meg and Louis while they were in town back in May. It was just a casual shoot and really more of a reason to hang out, than a serious matter, but I rented some lenses and a body that I’d never used before and struggled pretty hard. I definitely learned my lesson about trying too many new things at once, but hey, that’s what shooting friends is all about. You have to get people with good humor to stand in, smile a lot and let you learn while making mistakes.
Fortunately for me, Meg and Louis were a dream to shoot and I still got a few decent shots worth showing, no? A girl is lucky to have such understanding, patient and fun-loving pals to play around with. Also special thanks to my boyfriend, Mr. Linsenmaier, for being a wonderful “lens boy,” as it were and keeping track of all of my gear for the day. <3
Hope everyone is having a great Friday! Have any good weekend plans? I get to watch my lover play a show and then entertain his parents over for dinner in my little home. Eep!
