Cat Eye

Cat Eyes

Everyone’s got their beauty favorites, but when it comes to me, I’m a creature of habit. It’s not that I don’t like trying new things, but beauty products are expensive and well, I guess I’ve just found something that works. I use the exact same foundation that I have used since I started using foundation in the 7th grade.

I’ve done the cat eye approach since freshmen year of high school, when I used it as a tool to blend my obscenely bright makeup into my false eyelashes. I still do it almost every day now as an adult (sans scenester eyeshadow) and have truly refined the technique and made a little trademark look for myself.

I like to try it different ways; heavy for going out to match my leather jacket and super thin and delicate for client meetings, just to make my eyes stand out ever so slightly. I also alternate between black and brown liners varying on the day. I use a pretty cheap brand and have tried many alternatives over the years and keep coming back to this one. I love the brush. I guess that’s really all it is to me. The brush is so soft and flexible but not so soft that it’s like a paint brush and fans out. I’m always open to suggestions though!

What’s your signature makeup move?
